What's New for 2021?
The 2021 Lincoln Aviator gets mint changes. We have an introduction of three new colors and a Monochromatic Reserve appearance package.
The wheels get a unique design and sizes that include 21- and 22-inch wheels. Those who chose the reserve trim will enjoy a standard panoramic sunroof. The Reserve and Grand Touring models now get ventilated and heated front-row seats.
Lincoln Aviator Trim Levels
The new three-row Aviator has a lineup of five trim levels:
- Standard
- Reserve
- Grand Touring
The lower three trims equip with a turbocharged V-6 powertrain, while the upper two get a hybrid powertrain. You can either choose a rear-wheel that comes standard or an optional all-wheel drive for the Standard and Reserve. The rest of the lineup consists of an all-wheel-drive only.
Engine and Performance
The 2021 Aviator equips with one of the two engine options. We have a 400 horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 powertrain. It mates with an automatic, ten-speed transmission delivering smooth and agile cruising. What makes Lincoln unique and exciting to ride are two options in gear shifting. You can opt for a paddle shifter or a piano key shifter.
Lincoln equips the Aviator Grand Touring with the same base V-6 engine and transmission as the regular Aviator.
However, the Grand Touring adds 100 horsepower when combining with an electric motor. When both combine, they produce a total of 494 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque.
It only takes the Grand Touring fewer than 5.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 60 mph. A 13-kWh lithium-ion battery allows the plug-in hybrid to cover 18 miles of pure electric vehicle drive mode.
The rear-wheel-drive Aviator managed to record 18/26 mpg on city/highway drive on fuel efficiency. An all-wheel-drive registered 17/24 mpg on city/highway drive.
The Grand Touring recorded a total of 25 mpg on a 200-mile highway fuel-economy test. When on an EV mode, it recorded 15 mpg on a 21-mile test.
Technology and Safety Features
The 2021 Lincoln Aviator equips with a SYNC 3 infotainment system. It pairs with a large 10.1-inch touchscreen display that gives access to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and navigation.
We also have some notable features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, satellite radio, and Revel Ultima 3D audio system.
